IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE

Many people dream of becoming a multimillionaire. There will hardly be a man or woman who has never at one stage or the other indulged in this day-dreaming. I am a teenager from a middle class family. So how can I think of earning millions of rupees at this tender age? Still God has His own way, who knows, my luck may shine and I may be a millionaire. Akbar-The Great became the emperor of India at the age of thirteen, Daniel Radcliffe, the hero of world famous ‘Harry Porter’ movies is also a millionaire at my age. Well I may  win a lottery, strike a gold mine or contract  films with millions of rupees.

Let me suppose that I  fortunately  became a member of the millionaire club. You may think that I would construct a palace like  air conditioned bungalow, buy many luxurious cars and keep several servants to attend me and my family. But my answer to all this would be an emphatic ’No’.

I may be very happy to own such a  tempting amount and yet I would be a little nervous and afraid to have this huge sum. So, I would in the first        instance keep this amount in bank. Then I will try to spend it in the most judicious manner as to derive maximum pleasure out of it by doing something special for my society and beloved motherland.

India is a poor country where there are many people who hardly get two square meals a day. They do not have small room to live and even clothes to protect themselves from the chilly winter. Though our government has provided home to the homeless, they are not sufficient. So, I will open a few shelter homes for the home less and provide them food and clothes.

Many people in our country still die  for want of proper medical aid. I would therefore invest a portion of money in setting up a hospital for the poor masses.

I am pained when I see orphans, children of downtrodden families and helpless aged persons. Hence ,I would lose no time in opening an orphanage and an old age home. I will establish an ideal school for the orphans and poor children. I will provide the elderly people suitable works to earn their live hood in my old age home.

Today unemployment is one of the major problems of India. I will open various vocational centres to train the poor  unemployed youth and many small scale units to provide them jobs.

Again, I will spend some amount of the money for the development of art, culture and literature. Our state has produced many great men with remarkable contributions in different  fields. I will work for  spreading their great achievements and celebrate their birth and death anniversary. I will publish the books of good writers and distribute them in very marginal profit. I will establish a library with all sorts of book.

Our India is a land of villages. There are still certain villages where the innocent villagers have not yet been able to free themselves from the clutches of the greedy village money lenders. So, I shall start a cooperative society to provide  financial assistance to the poor villagers of some villages at very marginal interest.

With all these, I would give myself the best education. I will provide financial support to my family. I will also start mass movements to fight against corruption, terrorism, communalism, nasty politics and caste politics.

This is how I shall make use of my money if I become a millionaire. There may be many people who will jeer at me and mock at me considering it as my foolishness of spending millions of rupees in such a manner. But they perhaps do not realize that a man gets spiritual happiness by helping the poor and needy.
