Dear Children,

Jealousy is a severe poison and it seriously impairs ones mental health. If, once it starts with a very minor feeling will grow to gigantic proportions bringing about untold sufferings. So, jealousy is a destructive force that is very difficult to shield under any circumstances.

Innocent guys, it is always a sense of inequality that breeds jealousy. It is born when you compare yourselves with others without being aware of it. When you lack something, which the other person has, you become jealous of him or her. It may be the fair complexion, more wealth, higher social status, more popularity, and more knowledge. So, jealousy is a negative response to the achievements of others, and a proof of our own limitations and personal failures. A jealous person is resentful and suspicious of others. Jealousy destroys all his good qualities. People may admire him due to his power or wealth, but roughly criticize him in his absence. Jealousy also develops abnormality and this causes a constant incapacity to deal with normal day-to-day situations. Again, jealousy results frustration, disillusionment and a bad tendency of suspecting others. In every incident a person starts suspecting the other at whom he or she is jealous and thinks that person is responsible for his or her state. By this he hurts his real well-wishers and takes care of his true enemies.

Bright stars, you should remember that most inequalities are natural. All plants are not of same size and shape, and all animals are not of equal strength, power and intelligency, still they are not jealous to each other. In your hand your five fingers are not equal, but they function smoothly without showing any sign of jealousy. Lord Krishna was dark blue in complexion, but he is the darling of every human in the earth. Sachin Tendulkar , one of the  greatest cricketer of world is a short and stout person. But the people of the whole world are his fans. Our respected President of India APJ Abdul Kalam was a boy from a very poor family. But his dedication and sincere efforts made him a great scientist and the President of India. So, instead of getting jealous at others, you must strive to make the best use of the talent that God has given to you. Make a genuine and healthy effort to imbibe the good qualities of others in your life. If you develop an intense and true desire for spiritual life, then jealousy will disappear. Friends, remember it is only small minds that fret and fume in jealousy. When your mind is broad and is striving for excellence you will have no time or energy to be jealous of anybody else. So, the surest method of removing jealousy is to develop positive virtues.

“To be good and great in life is to be non-jealous”.
