THE RAINY SEASON

Broadly speaking, there are three main seasons in a year- Summer, Rainy and Winter. Rainy season is the period when rain continues after the heat of the summer. It  is a great blessing. There would be no life nor any vegetation on our dear  earth, if there were no rain.  Nature rejoices when rain is about to fall. Almost all human beings, animals, birds, plants, the soil and water bodies are thrilled and gladdened at the very sight of the rising and gathering of clouds or when it rains. So the whole earth is reborn in the rainy season and breathes a new.

The months of June-July and August-September are generally  rain months. The rain comes with thunder and lightning in this season. If the rains are sufficient, crops grow well. There is greenery all round. The ponds, lakes, rivers become full of water.  There is no want of water for irrigation purposes.

All children- all boys and girls are gladdened by rain showers. They enjoy by floating  paper boats and splashing  water on one another. If it rains heavily at about the opening hours of schools, a holiday is declared. The festivals like Janamashtami and Rakshabandhan are the joy bringing  festivals of the rainy season.

The rainy season  sometimes present a very horrible picture. The floods became common phenomena in different parts of the country. Heavy damage is caused to the crops and lives of animals and men.

But  the rainy season keeps the earth fresh and fertile all the year round. It is necessary to make winter and summer worthwhile.
