Mother earth is a beautiful planet with spectacular blue colour in its surface. It is the densest of all planets. Animals, plants and human beings survive in this planet only due to the presence of air, water and land. In the past, the lush green forests added charm to its beauty. In its green veil, the wild animals were roaming freely, the birds were chirping cheerfully and the human beings were living happily.
Slowly and gradually, the era changed. Science and technology developed. Men wanted to live comfortably. The age of industrialization started and industries emitted poisonous gasses. The atmosphere was polluted by carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide gasses. By and by, the number of vehicles increased. They also emitted harmful gasses like carbon monoxide. As a result, global warming raised its head, climatic changes occurred frequently, flood and drought followed one after another. Forests became a victim to the coveted eyes of human beings. The cruel hands of two legged beast started cutting down the green trees for house-hold things instead of planting it. As a result, our environment was polluted and it is difficult to survive now.
Trees and forests are the best friend of mankind. They support human life in various ways. Trees in forest cause rainfall and enable the farmer to produce crops. Green leaves of the tree absorb carbon dioxide and sunlight during the time of photosynthesis and give out oxygen for the survival of human beings. Forests contribute a lot for prevention of air pollution and protection of eco-system. They also provide us vegetables, fruits, and flowers in our day-to-day life. They are also the nestling place of different birds and animals for the maintenance of Eco-system.
Now, Mother Earth is over-burdened with various problems. To save it from these disasters, the only way is to plant sufficient trees and make afforestion at different places. The popular saying of today is “Each One, Plant One”. Thus, in order to make our surrounding clean and make human life comfortable, we should be back to green again.
