FAILURES ARE THE PILLARS OF SUCCESS

At the first hearing, this saying does not sound plausible. How can success come through failure? When a person is unable to do anything, how can he do it later? But if we seriously look at this proverb and study it’s inner meaning it does embody a great truth. It is meant as an encouragement to those who fail and inspires that they should not loose heart and keep patience. They should not lose hope but rather to grid up their loins and try again and again and to continue doing so. Great poet Keats has rightly said, “Failure is in a sense the highway to success”. So even if we have tried once and failed, we should not give up in despair. We should remember that our efforts have not gone wastes and they have at least provided us experience, which will stand with us in the second attempt. As we gain experience with every effort that we make, we will grow wiser and th0is is the foundation of success. It is natural that if a person builds upon the foundation of wisdom and self- confidence, success will be definitely in his clutch. However, it will be a mistake to take this proverb literally and conclude that we can get success only after failures. The proverb says no such thing and reminds that if there is a failure, we should not be sad or depressed and treat that failure as an incentive to put in greater efforts. Our chances of success will brighten up if we try with stronger will and a firmer determination. Again, this saying directs us to examine the causes of our failures and insists to find out the ways by which we can achieve success. Many of us do not succeed not because we do not have the ability but because we are too nervous or too calculating. So we must face failures bravely with patience in order to attain success. What are most necessary for all these, are strong will power, perseverance and courage.
