Man earns his daily bread to live, and for that again he lives and works hard. As air is to breathe and water to drink, so is food to eat. Food is undoubtedly one of the most intrinsic basic ingredients of man’s existence and growth. A hungry man crying for a morsel of food has no mind to appreciate his country’s conspicuous position among the nations of the world and no word to in praise of its ancient culture and heritage. His whole attention is to silence the rumblings of his stomach. In his mad pursuit he feels that he is no better than an animal of prey. A teen aged bony boy who should have been living a care free life of a student, gets up before the sun rises. He goes on his rounds, like an early bird looking for its prey, collecting thrown outs - pieces of paper and scraps. What he gets he feeds his parents and family by selling those. At bus stops, railway stations, and in front of god’s sacred temples, number of beggars are waiting for getting a 50 paise coin from people. Even after 59 years of independence, in India forty percent of people are living below poverty line. They are struggling to get two satisfactory daily meals and even some of them sleep by keeping wet clothes on their bellies. So, what god is for them ! Only food is their first God. The person who feeds them is more than God for them. So, to a man with empty stomach food is God.
