Cinema is primarily regarded a source of entertainment. It removes our worries and boredom. Cinema is a powerful cultural force. The culture of a country finds its best representation on the silver screen. ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Mahabharat’ are the finest examples. The Cinema is also an educative medium. Educational films on Science, Geography, History, Engineering etc are very useful to students. Movies also help in moulding public opinion. But most of the films of recent time are useless and harmful. These are full of plans of murder, rubbery, sexual feelings etc. But, with many bad effects, the good influence of the cinema can not be ignored. Cinemas contribute to the growth of unity, culture, morality and also helps the integration of the diversified sections of the Indian people. Only the degraded movies are like poison.
