A zoo is an interesting place where all kinds of animals and birds are kept for study and enjoyment. It is a short form of Zoological Garden. Last Sunday I along with my family visited the zoo of Nandankanan, at Baranga. It is a natural zoo having a variety of animals, birds and reptiles. We went there by train from Cuttack. We bought entrance tickets and entered the zoo. First we saw many tigers including the Royal Bengal tiger and the white tiger. Then we visited the bear’s den and saw them playing. We entered inside the reptiles’ section and saw many snakes inside glass houses. The crocodiles were eating fishes in the small pool. I saw many types of birds. A peacock was dancing while a crane was searching food. We also went to the lion safari by Toy train. We took our launch in the park and played in the swings. My sister and I sat on the elephant and moved around the garden. In the evening we returned home happily.
