Music enriches our life. It is the most ancient of the arts. Even before life began on this earth, music was there in the winds and in the waves. When the first plant appeared, music was there and when humanity came, music became the most delicate and most powerful medium for the expression of emotions. So it has been rightly said that music is the universal language of mankind. In all ages it has inspired people with hope, kindled their love, given a voice to their joys, cheered them on to valorous deeds, and comforted their life in times of despair. Hence, all of a sudden, the world would be a very quiet and dull place without music. Without music life becomes vapid and tasteless and no charm is found in our existence.
Little Stars, music adds zest to life. Studies have shown that music can alter the functions of our body, our emotions, our mind, our thinking and even our behaviour. It can alter our pulse, blood pressure, breathing rate, etc. Horror music frightens us, tragedy music saddens us, chants calms us, soft music soothes us, pop music excites us. American doctors have proved that if ‘Gayatri Mantra’ is played at a slow volume near the heart patients, it improves their condition. Music has vital role in the treatment of anxiety, mild forms of depressions, panic attacks etc. It has been proved that singing of devotional music in group is most effective in reducing the effects of stress. By chanting the Mahamantra ‘Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare’ one can do so. Music also reduces the dose of painkillers needed while treating labour pain during childbirth, post operative pain and dental pain. Again, music has a pivotal role in exercises. Dancing which is the best exercise cannot be performed without music. Aerobics is not possible without music. In physiotherapy units and weight reduction clinics music is most essential.
Nice Guys, music develops concentration and brings enthusiasm to work. By listening slow and qualitative music, one can devote himself full in study and in doing continuous works. When one studies by playing good music his mind grows faster. Music creates a great patriotic spirit among the people of a nation. Our national song ‘Vande Mataram’ and national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ are its burning proves. Music thus, captures moods and minds of people, overwhelming them with feeling of unity, integrity and fraternity. You all should therefore, listen to good music. Avoid listening slang, double meaning and odd music which is not music in real sense but noise pollution. Be a lover of good, qualitative and pleasant music in order to make your life healthy and prosperous.
