Christmas is observed on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. Christ walked the Earth 2,000 years ago, yet his image continues to be the most influential religious teacher in the world today. Jesus, born like a man, with flesh and blood, was the messenger of God. There was something special and distinct in him that made him a Messiah. He gave sight to the blind, calmed fierce storms with a mere word, fed 5,000 people with a handful of food, raised a man from the dead. Hence, the life of Jesus Christ depicts that he is both a human as well as a God. He has himself gone through the whole of human experience, from the inconsequential irritations to the worst horrors of pain and humiliation, defeat, despair and death. Undoubtedly, Jesus is a great and a compassionate lover of sinners, a man who strives for peace and one who understands humans better than anyone; the greatest preacher who ever lived, the great God who came to us.
Friends, Jesus Christ’s message is revolutionizing. His words are very simple, yet profound. Jesus gives the message of love, mercy and compassion to the entire mankind. No other religious preacher in this Earth has inspired so many positive changes in the lives of his followers. To uphold their faith, they do not hesitate to face any hardship and face live bravely and boldly. Many bless their lives in serving others, disregarding their own needs and desires.
Bright Stars, as Jesus says God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is stained by an attitude of disobedience toward God called ‘sin’. This attitude separates man from God. Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. God provides the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
