Respected Judges, elders and dear friends. I am Seema Gupta , a student of Class VI of ABC School, Cuttack. It gives me immense pleasure to stand before you and express my views on the famous and highlighted topic ‘Is money the root of all evils ?’ It is a golden opportunity for me and a matter of great pride and glory to justify my opinion whether money is the root of all evils or not. In my view money is the root of all evils.

Money, Money, Money !

Brighter than sunshine & sweeter than honey; Nothing in the earth is like money.

Money that forms the basis of our society is said to be the second God. It not only provides the necessaries and amenities of life, but enables us to practise virtue and our cherished ambitions. Money makes one’s life healthy, wealthy, prosperous and provides him status, name and fame. But this money is the root of all evils. Money has been hampering our life so badly in each and every movement twenty four hours around the clock. The harms and evils caused by money is more dangerous than the nuclear bombs. In the atmosphere there is the ozone layer to protect us from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. But there is nothing in the earth to protect us from the disasters and devastations caused by money. Natural calamities like cyclone, earthquakes, Tsunami and flood come and go. They take thousands of lives. But the most furious storm of money is taking millions of life throughout the world. So money is the greatest criminal the mother earth has ever produced. In my opinion it is the root of all evils.

Desire to acquire more and more money has made man dishonest, irrational and violent like beasts. Crime has crossed the limits. Who is responsible for this ? Only this stupid money. Snatching, robbery and murder are the serious side effects of money. So in my view money is the root of all evils.

Again money is a great obstacle on the way of peace. The America and Iraq war is only because of money, that is oil- the liquid money. Global terrorism is also a product of money.  Some nations have been providing financial support to terrorists for their self benefit. So money is the root of all evils.

Money has also a  nasty  role in dividing our society into two classes - the rich and the poor or the have and have not. The rich and powerful persons have been exploiting the poor and weak people. At one side there are crores or people who are struggling to get two satisfactory daily meals and at the other, there are people whose dogs are eating five star hotel meals. So, money in my opinion is the root of all evils.

Money is also the main reason behind family conflict. In a family the person who is not financially sound, is treated as a culprit or third grade citizen by the other members. So in my opinion this happens only be cause of money.

Children are just like puppets in the hands of money. Money makes them way ward and  indisciplined and pulls them towards the evil route. They develop bad habits only by getting  money. So in my opinion money is the root of all evils.

Before concluding my opinion I would like to say that now black money have become a great threat to the Indian society. It is not simply anti-social and anti-national but like cancer, it  threatens to ruin our economy. Hence, at last I would like to conclude my view by  saying that money is the root of all evils.
