Dear Children,
Kindness is a great human value. It is priceless. It is considered to be one of the mighty virtues in all cultures and religions. In reality, it is a great testimony to God’s presence and work in an individual. Kindness involves other values, such as honesty, sympathy, lovingness, gentleness, compassion, benevolence, generosity, humanity etc.
Friends, kindness is the language that the deaf can hear, dumb can speak and blind can read. It is the act or the state of charitable behaviour to other people. The erosion of kindness in our society is one of the major issues facing our nation today. Kindness is becoming more of a rarity, as if there is an “epidemic of kindness”. Terrorist activities, communal riots, killing of innocents, brutal murders and all most all anti-social, anti-national and anti-rational works are only due to the lack of kindness. Hence, being kind is the call of the time. You actually can enjoy a lot of benefits by doing kind deeds. Rudeness destroys the emotional soul and creates vulnerability, isolation, and fear that inevitably accompany the confrontation of life’s end. Innumerable losses occur, including the loss of occupational and familial roles, financial and social status, and oftentimes, a perceived loss of human worth. But kindness transcends all relationships and generates an elemental human bond.
Bright Stars, the value of kindness cannot be measured in human terms. An act of kindness enriches the heart of both the giver and the receiver. Kind acts will not only make you feel good about yourself, your acts of kindness may improve your health and happiness. A simple act of kindness, helping someone in distress, can bring you euphoria and peaceful feeling. Truly, kind persons are probably the most famous ones in the world. Jesus and Buddha are worshipped as Gods because of their kindness; and father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi, doing kind deeds throughout his life became immortal.
Nice guys, if you are kind, then you will be encouraged and strengthened. Hence, move your eyes and heart to others, and nourish the virtue of kindness in your heart. Selfishness is the great enemy of kindness, so resist it. You all must be very kind encompassing noble traits as honesty, friendliness, lovingness, goodness, generosity, compassion, benevolence etc. You must always remember that kindness is the opposite of brutal, harsh, hurtful, uncaring, rude, and such like. Pray God to bless this great virtue of kindness in your life, because in its expression you will be able to see Him transform lives and be glorified.
