TIGERS TO EXTINCT LIKE DINOSAURS

Have you ever seen a living dinosaur? Your answer is always no, because dinosaurs became extinct since long years. Now we can only see the pictures of dinosaurs. Different species of dinosaurs lived and ruled our planet 65 million years ago. They lived more than 3 crores years on our Earth. You will be astonished to know that some dinosaurs had birds like feathers. Recently some scientists have discovered the skeleton of birds like dinosaurs from Mongolia. Dinosaurs were giant creatures on Earth.  Some of them were equivalent to the weight of 30 elephants.  But the question arises how such a giant creature became extinct?

We all know that each and every animal of our planet earth requires specific climate and environment. If the temperature of our atmosphere increases upto 55 to 60 degree Celsius we all human beings will die. Because our body is constructed in such a way that it can sustain a maximum temperature upto 50 degree Celsius. After that the hypothalamus of our brain will be imbalanced and we will die. Some scientists predicted that all dinosaurs died due to change of climate on earth surface 65 million years ago. The extreme climate at that time was intolerable for dinosaurs to survive. Some predicted that there was a huge collision of asteroids with planet Earth and a huge wave from sea spread over the land mass of the Earth and all dinosaurs  perished inside the high tide and forceful water current. Some scientists gave separate opinion. They suggested that dinosaurs died by eating some poisonous plants appeared at that time on Earth surface.  But climate change is one of the principal reasons for the extinction of dinosaurs which has been appreciated by a large group of scientists.

Let us discuss about the present condition of our planet. Our climate is changing rapidly. Due to global warming, large number of plants and animals are disappearing from our planet every day. Out of 5487 mammal species of Earth, 1141 are in threat of extinction. The number of tigers in nineteenth century was 1,00,000. After one hundred years the tiger population decreased at an alarming rate from 1,00,000 to 5, 000. Now their number is within 2,000 worldwide. If this process will continue then, within 10 to 15 years we can see only the pictures of tigers like those of dinosaurs.

But what is the reason behind the decline of the number of tigers. The main reason is loss of their habitat. If we loose our home, where will we live? Due to some human activities tigers lost their habitat i.e. natural living places-the deep forest. Due to deforestation they have been losing their home, food and everything. So, children! Let us think seriously about tigers and other animals those are desperate for survival. We should remember that all plants and animals are helpful to us and we alone cannot make our planet pleasant and beautiful.
