World Teachers’ Day is held annually on October 5th since 1994. Its aim is to mobilize support for teachers. According to UNESCO, World Teachers’ Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
Teachers’ Day in various countries
In many countries, Teachers’ Days are celebrated on different days. India celebrates our respected second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday 5th September as Teachers’ Day since 1962. Before becoming the President of India, he was a distinguished professor and educationist.
