Just as children go through the various stages of life, parents have to perform different roles full of varying and new errands.

Children imitate parents and others adults whom they love, admire and respect. Becoming a parent is the easiest part, whereas, being a conscious and positive parent is an earth-shattering charge. The followings are the various changing roles of parents prescribed by world famous educationists and psychologists.

1. Be Ideal Parents:- Ideal parents are persons who set good examples by the words they speak and by the actions they take. Children tend to copy the behaviour and mannerism of their parents. Hence, you must be ideal and lead a disciplined life, so that your children adopt these virtues.

2. Be Persons of Good Character:- A  man is viewed as having achieved everything in life when he possesses a perfect  character. The parents, who are endowed with noble souls, make their children persons of noble character, enrich the society and nation. Hence you must be embodied with right conduct in your thoughts and deeds.

3. Be Persons of Pleasing Personality:- Parents must have a good personality.  Radiant and pleasing appearance and pleasant manners are some of the essential traits of perfect parenting. External appearance has a psychological effect upon the children. By your pleasing personality, you can win the true love and affection of your children and can command respect.

4. Keep Good Mental & Physical Health:- Parents are the lamps that remove darkness from the life of their children,   making their life worthy. Hence, you must have good mental and physical health. Neurotic parents spread fear, nervousness, hatred, prejudice, worry and hostile feelings in the mind of their children.

Hence, you should have sound social contacts and should mix well in your neighbours, so that your children can realize the great social values.

7. Provide Positive Love & Affection:- Most parents are fully blind in loving their children. They fulfill all their demands, both desirable and undesirable showing their affection. But negative love and affection spoil the children. Hence, you should support your children and express your love and affection; but in a very positive way.

8. Understand your Children:- It is the  primary duty of the parents to understand their children, to be just and courteous with them. You should know everything about your children and build one to one relationship with them.

10. Teach your Children Moral Values:- Parents must install the great moral values of discipline, honesty, benevolence, non-violence, patience and tolerance in their children.

11. Teach your Children to Develop Time Sense:- You have to teach your children  the value of time. Tell them that they have to utilize each moment of their study hours in school as well as at home properly.
